Abigor
Channeling the Quintessence of Satan
[Napalm]
Yes, this is the fifth ABIGOR full-length and it rules!
It is fast, brutal, true black-influenced death metal with harsh production and
furious playing. It does not reach the coldness of ”Opus IV” but this is more
about war-like aggression, just like their mCD ”Apokalypse” was.
The riffings are as technical as ever, on the level of most quality death metal
bands and T.T.’s drumming is sharp. Silenius has left the position of the
vocalist to Thurisaz (formerly of AMESTIGON and HEIDENREICH) and he is very
consistent but almost monotonous in consistency here.
Monotonous minimalism doesn’t hurt this album one bit because this feels like
one complete track from the beginning to end in tight coherence. Songs are
separated by inspiring small keyboard bits that are more sci-fi this time than
old ABIGOR’s semi-medieval atmospherics.
HEIL SATAN!
