Therion
A'arab Zaraq Lucid Dreaming
[Nuclear Blast]
Fuck... what do you say about Therion? They are sure as hell one odd piece of work, starting out as a death/thrash type stuff, and actually not bad at that, they moved quite far from that... Hardly even metal anymore, more some form of classical music, just played with the typical metal instruments. It does have it's moments, but generally speaking I can say that I can appreciate them only a little now. This specific album has some different versions of songs from other albums, some songs from a movie soundtrack done by their vocalist, and some a bit more metallish versions of some of the songs and lastly some cover versions, like some Iron Maiden and Running Wild. But this is not for the average metal head, those of you that know Therion should know what to expect, and have already made up your minds about them. Those that don't, well if you can stand some symphonic classical music with slight undertones of metal here and there, then this might catch your interest, but still best be advised to listen
before investing in this, but better yet get one of their full albums such as Vovin as this in part is just another of those cover versions, and different versions of already existing songs, type of label money maker.
