Thornspawn
Blood of the holy, Taint thy steel
[Baphomet/Necropolis]
Ah, the long awaited full-length album is here for the
general public and what a glorious album it is. This
CD makes me want to ride into a medieval battle with a
sword raised to the sky. Some people might slag this
off as just another crappy CD from the
mega-conglomerate, Pantera backed Baphomet-Necropolis
Inc. but this could be the album that saves their
reputation from going further into the depth of toilet
bowl. Take equal amounts of the Australian
barbarians, Baltak and the Norwegian Adams Family,
Tulus and mix well until it becomes a homogeneous
mixture. Throw in some Polish type drumming and what
you get is the new Thornspawn album – a raw blasting
machine. I really hope that Merciless gets the
courage to license this album for vinyl… Now I have
to check out the new Summon album…
