Misanthropic Poetry
Inhaling The Wind Of The Burning Grim Dreams
[Beverina]
This is one of Russian bands labeled as fake by the self-proclaimed true,
elite Black Metal Brotherhood. I don't know whether Misanthropic Poetry
belong to the opposing Satarial (not to be confused with Satarial from
Sweden) faction, but they did, in fact, have some rough encounters with the
BMB gang.
"Inhaling The Wind..." merely consists of re-released demo material, while
the music brings to mind very untechnical, underproduced Marduk. As far as
the quality goes, this is rather shabby, although, there are some positive
sides. Raw, in-you-face vocals and messy, chaotic drumming transpierce the
music with barely contained black energy that leaves a positively violent
impression upon you. What kills this whole effort is the horrid guitar work
that sounds so weak that you can barely decipher it. If they came up with a
better production and found a good guitar player who could write decent
riffs, then we'd be going somewhere. Alas, that is not the case here.
I can't see anyone but the most hardcore underground enthusiasts finding any
substance in this, and even that is questionable. Better luck next time.
