Fu Manchu
King of the Road
[Mammoth]
Yep, new FU CD. Hard driving, hard drinking, pot smoking rockin metal
grooves. Not much difference than previous albums except there is not one
bad song. Even their version of DEVO's "Freedom of Choice" sounds cool like
Black Sabbath. Scott Hill's vocals are clean and spoken-like (ie. Ozzy/Ted
Nugent) and the riffs are among Fu Manchu's best. Fans of 70s rock, vans,
pulling down chicks' halter tops on the beach when you were 14, watching
cool shit like Platoon or Excalibur with the sound off (cuz you're listening
to this CD!), and getting baked will get a kick out of this. Fave tracks
are the triple shot of "Boogie Van", "King of the Road", and "No Dice".
