Grand Belial's Key
Mocking The Philanthropist
[Wood-Nymph]
This band finally releases a debut album, and a very
long one too (around 70 minutes in length). As like
the previous 7", this album has good moments mixed
with bad moments. Fortunately, the good moments are
far more. Still, why did they have to go and re-record
some of the laughable songs from their first demo
"Goat of 1000 Young" (although these versions are MUCH
better than the originals!!)?? I can hear a good
portion of old school metal in the music, listen to
the opening track, they pretty much copy "Heading Out
To The Highway" by JUDAS PRIEST in one part!! There's
also a heavy VENOM influence. Cazz Grant's vocals
remind me heavily of Satyr. Best tracks include "In
Rapture By The Fenrir Moon" and "The Holocaust
Trumpeter", the worst are "Shemhemforash" and "Seventh
Enochian Key" (both from the first demo, big
surprise!!)...
