The Carpathian Forest CD that brought them to "stardom" (haha).. or rather, just well known-ness amongst black metal crowds... And rightfully so! This cd fucking kills!!!! With strange titles like "Pierced Genitalia" you would expect quite a strange cd.. but instead of that, you get some old school, fucking killer black metal!! I thought this cd would signal a great change in CF's style, but it does not, just a vast improvement!! The guitars here are in the Darkthrone style.. cold and grim as ever, but still very "rocking".. the bass guitar is COMPLETELY audible here, there isn't a part on this cd where you can't hear it!! And their bassist is very talented.. the bass sound is extremely deep and muddled (in a good production sort of way..) and adds to the darkness of this cd.. Influences can be drawn from Bathory, Darkthrone, and Celtic Frost.. but they pretty much have their own style.. the drumming here is top notch, no missed beats or any other such.. the vocals are in the rasped style, done very efficiently and fit the music well.. Synths are used every now and again, but in good taste, adding more depth to the music, rather than making it sounding like a childish video game (haha).. Well, what more needs to be said? This is classic Carpathian Forest material, and their best cd yet! So go buy this now!!!

Appeal: Black Metal heads.. I think anyone who likes black metal can get into CF
