Sigh
Requiem For Fools
[Wild Rags]
I believe the "Requiem For Fools" 7" is Sigh's third
demo pressed onto vinyl. It contains two songs: "The
Knell" and "Desolation of My Mind," both of which
appear in their re-recorded forms on Sigh's first
album, Scorn Defeat. Since Scorn Defeat was my first
exposure to this band (back in 94), I was pleasantly
surprised to hear these rawer versions of the songs.
To me these songs sound much better with the rougher
production and echoed vocals. Only Mirai and Satoshi
contributed to this recording which partly explains
the rawer feel of this 7". I found it funny that
Satoshi is credited with playing the triangle??? I
didn't even hear the damn thing in the songs. The
only draw back that I can think of is the somewhat
weak guitar sound on some parts of the songs. Besides
this very minor flaw, all Sigh fans should own this
recording in one format or another. That is if you can
track it down.
