This is sort of a joke/shits tribute from one of the meanest players in the grindcore scene. "The Greatest Shits" has a more light-hearted approach than the gruelling grinding alcholic hell from their "Surgical Disembowelment" and "A Chapter of Incidents" on Morbid Records. So what the fuck these Polish guys have to offer? Besides the assortment of cover tracks from godly grind/crust artists like Regurgitate, E.N.T., Napalm Death, etc, there's some tracks thrown in purely for stupid fillers! There's a special grind drums mix on Bee Gees' "Stayin' Alive'"! But this parody turns out to be a bad (Polish) joke when there's already a better one covered by Anal Cunt. Well... I find the intro and outro "Psalms about Computers" and "Psalms about Storage Battery" to be one of the most interesting fillers of the lot though. This two tracks are supposedly performed by this Polish dork that goes by Adam Osmolinski (photo enclosed!) and it's a really demented cynical computer-obsessed mumbling of unintelligible,out of tune shits! REAL FUNNY SHITS!!!! But probably I got the idea all wrong..? Now, a shift back to what the proper covers are like. Jaro outdid himself as he stretched his vocal range from the monstrous crust husk on Extreme Noise Terror's "Raping the Earth", to the perverted growls on General Surgery's "Slithering Maceration of Ulcerous Facial Tissue", to an almost authentic necrosnarls sickness on Carcass' "Pungent Excruciation". The Carcass cover also captures the neat grooves and sections almost identical to the original, retaining the heavy grind sound with just an exception of more technical guitar details. Whereas the Agathocles' cover "Clean the Scene" is a tad too heavy when compared to the original. But whatever it is, this funny tribute deserves alot of attention from the underground for all its slapstick humour and what not. However, with strong contenders like Anal Cunt around, Dead Infection certainly need alot of improvement on their not so serious half.
