Gorgoroth
Destroyer
[Nuclear Blast]
The world's most Satanic black metal band release their first album on the christian label. Ironic? No. Stupid? Yes.
Despite never exactly being an original band (even in lyrics:"A Sorcery Written in Blood" and "The Sin of Satan is the Sign of Gorgoroth" nicely and obviously rip off Bathory and Sodom), they've always been a POWERFUL black metal band.
So Infernus (and dozen or so other band members) leave the now defunct German Malicious label for fjords filled with an over abundance of kroners, and release their weakest album to date. It's comedic, no doubt, that they had the time to come up with this album and spend months wanking in the studio. It's also rather funny that they've attempted to create anti-metal by adding drum machines and huge amounts of FUZZ. I would assume this is Gorgoroth's joke for us all. Yes, black metal is meant to be ugly, and Gorgoroth are doing their best to make it REALLY ugly, but they fall flat, of course. Without the inspiration to create metal, most likely replaced with the drunken giggling of a group of Norwegians laughing at the recording they've come up with, "Destroyer" is pathetic.
Retarded vocals, goofy production, a miserably boring album, with an unnecessary Darkthrone cover to boot. No thanks!
