I promised myself I wouldn't like this album, but strangely enough, it absolutely kills. The riffs are inspiring. Vocals drip with dirty anger. And if we look beyond the clean vocals and occasionally over fluffy atmosphere, this is a fine example of melodic black.

And it's VERY melodic, but not in a lifeless, modern Swedish sort of a way. No, rather, it has a more Emperor stylization to it all, probably because of the underlying keyboards. "Lacrimae Mundi" is just so fucking catchy though that I can't stop listening to it! And the PISSED off, cranky as anything (Nazgul from Pest/Horna pops up on a few tracks too) vocals just add to the worthy factor of it all.

Thumbs up indeed. If you need something a tad more melodic in your collection, then I'd recommend picking up this.
