If JL America lulled you with their loads of dull (quite honestly speaking), Nokturnel will instantly perk you up beyond your wildest metal euphoria. From the blistering mechanically-torturous opener "Human Termite" till the end, this death-thrash outfit showed the world that insane technical-masters from the deepest depths of New Jersey are definitely a force to reckon with and wouldn't let go of your balls. What, you're questioning the integrity of the scene?!! Fuck you!!! New Jersey produced (to date) the most demented, vile and technically-obsessed virtuosos ever to grace the whole of the underground! Who gives the shit for Demilich when you have bands like Ripping Corpse, Revenant and Nokturnel? Nokturnel somehow stood out like a blacker sheep from the bunch, engaging an extremely super violent approach that shades out mediocre contenders. The machine-gun guitar molestation is pushed to the apex of extremity, forcing out weird tunes in the most warped way possible under the most intense speed-drive. Diverse ideas are poured in with the most unexpected changes and to very good effects that makes this an unrelenting killing machine. The keyword to here is FUCKING BOMBASTIC!!! The vocals are stylistically black metal and in the punkified tradition we have two guys screaming murder. Pure ripping anger drenched with gasping desperation and excruciating agony; they tear like a pitbull terrier! Every songs are the visualisation of actual violence, like this "Sliding Down the Razor"; it simulates the feel of getting cut to pieces!!! And for weird humour value, "Welcome to New Jersey" is a mocking parody to the habitats of these mutants. This CD is highly recommended to all underground metal maniacs who needs to be psychologically ravaged.
