Blood Feast
Face Fate
[New Renaissance]
Great fucking death metal! This mCD was originally only released on vinyl as the band’s
second official release (the first being their full-length debut, the death-metal classic "Kill
for Pleasure"), and it picks up right where the album left off - Crazy, insane death-thrash
in the greatest mid-late 80s tradition. The songs "Face Fate", "Blood Lust" (a remixed
version of the song that was put on the "Kill for Pleasure" CD release as an unlisted
bonus track), "R.I.P.", and "Vampire" are full of superfast riffs and breakneck tempo/time
changes, and just like on the debut the three hallmarks of the band are in perfect form: the
totally insane, chaotic soloing of guitarists Mike Basden and Adam Tranquilli, the totally
unstoppable drumming of Kevin Kuzma, and vocalist Gary Marovitch’s unique frantic
death-shouts. Musically, there’s not much else to say - Like I said earlier, it picked up
right where the first album left off, so if you like one you’ll like the other. The only
additional notes are about the issue/packaging itself: this reissue is another of New
Renaissance’s hand-numbered limited edition releases, and it restores the original cover
art (both front and back) and also includes a nice two-page liner note story by Ann
Boleyn which details the story of Blood Feast and this Eps original release.
