I had heard Baltak's name floating around for a while, and have heard nothing but good things, so a couple days ago, I decided to pick up the cd.. and what a cd it is!!!! Imagine Mysticum mixed with some Darkthrone combined with a stellar production (although not too clean to ruin the music) and a slight touch of originality, and that is what you have here.. and it works really well!!! The vocals on this disc are in the Mysticum style (not as effective though) but slighty more high and shrieked, occasionally mixed with weird distorted growls (not industrial distorted.. different).. the drum machine here is used also in the Mysticum style, but slighty more blasting, and with less cymbal hits and less pushed to the front.. the guitars/bass are in the Darkthrone style, but played insanely faster, and way more repetitive (works extremely well), but this band doesn't do an EXACT copy of these two bands, they mix their styles perfectly, and throw in lots of original tid bits here and there to make for an outstanding CD... the war cries on this cd are fucking unbelievable.. done with such conviction!!! Not enough praise can be given to this album, go buy now!!!
