The New York-based noise-combo's debut album showcases their ability to make raw, ugly soundtracks for your own worst nightmares. The basic formula is no different from "Total Destruction," however, the music is more energetic and spontaneous, but less harmonic and tuneful. "Total Destruction" has a more dynamic and methodical song writing, while this album has this don't-give-a-fuck-I-just-wonna-rock attitude with loads of distortion and atonal plucking. If you need an album to bang your head to and wreck things, this will do a fine job. Unsane are one of the best examples of American guitar-noise, and the fact that they are now signed to Relapse proves that their appeal extends way beyond the boundaries of extreme music.
