Gods Tower
The Eerie
[Metal Agen]
I am writing this review for the sole purpose of confirming what a great
album it is. I've known about Gods Tower for a while but couldn't get a hold
of any of their releases. I finally saw this CD in a record store. I gave
it a listen and liked what I heard, so I bought it. When I played it at home
in its entirety, I absolutely loved it. Everything that Opyros said about it
is true. The songs vary from unadulterated heaviness ("Reign of Silence,"
"Till Death Do Us Part") to serene beauty ("The Eerie"), and the awesome
Slavonic folk parts make me drool in ecstasy. The only additional thing I
can complement on is a powerful vocalist. This guy can sing, and this guy
can roar, I'll tell you that.
Gods Tower's been around for a while. They started way back in 1989 as
Chemical Warfare. In 1993 the name was changed to Gods Tower, and "The
Eerie" was originally recorded as a demo. It was re-recorded in 1997 when
the band patched up a deal with Metal Agen.
It surely makes me proud that a band of such quality comes out of Belarus,
although sometimes I wish they would sing in their native tongue, but you
can't have everything, can you? So people, listen up! This is a wonderful
album. Don't be afraid to shell out your hard-earned cash for this one and
support great bands like Gods Tower. Now, if somebody could tell me where to
get "The Turns" CD.
