Thy Infernal
Satan's Wrath
[Moribund]
Compiling new songs and tracks from their out of print demo Thy Infernal
does the U.S. scene proud with this excellent release of unrelenting,
Christ mortifying, Satan spawned blasphemy made into CD form titled
-Satan's Wrath-.
Dark Throne are/were (depending on personal choice) the epitome (or at
least a very good example) of what raw, grim, hateful.. fuck it, what
True Black Metal sounded like and inspired, thus, any band inspired to
create such dreaded and often times loathed music can't help but draw
comparisons to the masters, and Thy Infernal does draw a not so blatant
comparison to Dark Throne sounding somewhere between a mix of
'Transylvanian Hunger' and 'Under A Funeral Moon', with a strong Satanic
presence. The production fits the music perfectly without sounding over
the top or like a four track rehearsal (nothing wrong with that though).
The final song pays homage to Slayer, Thy Infernal summon forth -Black
Magic- and perform it masterfully.
A landmark release for the U.S. scene, showing the strength of the black
metal releases of old and the musical extremity many desire.
