Atmospheric death metal in the form of Aeternus, the Norweigian three piece band also includes a keyboardist and pianist (both courtesy of Morrigan), embracing both brutality in the form of speed and melodies accompanied one of the more truly powerful voices in the metal genre provided by Ares.

The strength of the music, with its' flowing sense of melody throughout make this album stand-out, not brutally boring, nor soaked in pretty melodies, an intelligent use of both gives the music the added touch it needs. Although at times the lack of stability in the music lost my attention, I was eventually brought back by the impressive musical scores the band delivers.

With members from notable black metal bands, Aeternus is sure to attract the attention of their supporters, although not to be ignored by listeners within the death metal scene and those who enjoy atmospheric metal in general.
