Motorhead
No Sleep 'Til Hammersmith
[Bronze]
If you dig old Motorhead with the classic lineup (Lemmy on bass/
vocals, Fast Eddie Clarke on guitar, and Filthy Animal Taylor pounding
the drums), then this is required listening! This was released in 1981,
and despite the numerous cash-ins by record companies over the years
with other live albums, they can never match this.
Their first live album The Watcher (aka, Wot's Words Worth?) was
cool, using songs off On Parole and Motorhead, No Sleep is a better
selection. With songs off Bomber, Overkill, and Ace of Spades, a
fan can't go wrong as there wasn't one bad song in the bunch.
The production is pretty good, if you want something of the live
Motorhead experience, crank this as loud as possible, the more distorted
the better, and you get an idea. It isn't the same as actually attending,
with Lemmy's Rickenbacker bass and the amps just vibrating the hell out
of you! But you'll have an idea how this band became known as the Loudest
Band in the World.
Side 1- Ace of Spades/ Stay Clean/ Metropolis/ The Hammer/ Iron Horse/
No Class
Side 2- Overkill/ (We Are) The Road Crew/ Capricorn/ Bomber/ Motorhead.
