Without a doubt my favorite Maniac Butcher release, and quite possibly one of the top pure black metal releases available on CD. I say that because the riffs and atmosphere are just as good as anything out there. The production fits the music BRILLIANTLY. And the guitars! Fuck the guitars come up with some great riffs. Raw, sick, and strictly to the point.

The cover photo is worse than on "Barbarians" though, something that confuses me. I think a good deal of people have missed out on this band simply because they find it hard taking a band who superimpose themselves riding horses seriously. Believe me when I say MB are true metal warriors.

Not far off from the early Darkthrone school of basic thundering non stop black evil, Maniac Butcher are also kind enough to leave a few surprises at the end of the disc. A VILE live track that captures the band's sheer ferocity, as well as a Master's Hammer cover. Is it just me, or is Barbarud going for a MH vocal feel in his delivery here? "Lucan-Antikrist" reigns fucking supreme, and proves that real BLACK metal can still live on with pride.
