Metal And Hell
[Metal Mind]
Not to be confused with the whore from New York, this Polish band has
been around longer. This 1985 CD gives a view into the Polish scene. At
the time the main bands the fans could get were probably Accept, Iron
Maiden, Judas Priest, and Metallica, or so I assume. That's what it
sounds like they listened to here.
KAT play raw underproduced thrashy power metal. The singer sounds
like Udo from Accept, hoarse and wailing, and trying to be sharper. Not
bad. I like his screams, not enough of them.
I had a chuckle when I heard the opening riff to "Devils' Child", as
it sounds like "Struck By Lightning" by TANK.
If you like old school headbangin shit like Metal Church and Accept,
this has some pretty solid songs for you like Time of Revenge, (You Got
Me) Vampire, Devils' Child, Oracle, and 666. The two bonus tracks sound
like a demo, Noce Szatana (Satan's Night), and Ostatni Tabor (Final
Train,??, my Polish is rusty). Pretty cool, more traditional-type metal
than the rest of this, but not that far off. Maybe even my two fave
songs off this. By the way, since I'm Polish, maybe I am biased towards
this, but if you have a few bucks and see this, and like pre-thrash
metal, pick this up.
The tracks are- Metal and Hell/ Killer/ Time of Revenge/ Devil's House
Part I/ (You Got Me) Vampire/ Devils' Child/ Black Hosts/ Oracle/
Devil's House Part III/ 666/ Noce Szatana/ Ostatni Tabor.
