Destroyer is the fourth Gorgoroth's album (after Pentagram, AntiChrist, Under the Sign of Hell).

Well, I must say that Destroyer is just an average album. Mainly because 3 of the 8 songs are below the average (when not shitty). These songs are Destroyer, Blodoffer and the Darkthrone cover, Slottet I det Fjerne. Destroyer is not a black metal song (it sounds like a heavy metal song, even the singer is boring). Blodoffer is very simple and filled with annoying sound effects. Finally, the Darkthrone cover is totally fucked up, totally different from the original song... again the singer is horrible.

However, the other songs (#2,3-4-5 and 7) are very good : grim vocals, fuzzy sound and good drumming. These songs are morbid, dark and hateful, especially Open the Gates (what a great song!!!).

I don't have the lyrics due to the censorship by Nuclear Blast...

Conclusion : this album is a deception for me, because only the half of the songs are good (and I waited this album impatiently). I would have preferred a mCD...
