I'm surprised I've grown to listen to this almost every few days, and I've owned it for only a month. Svartsyn are raw black metal. I am not an expert, but this sounds like early Dark Throne, to me any- ways. Fast, with a poor production. Somewhat "hollow", but it's sort of thrashy too (this CD reminds me a lot of Bathory/Sodom). Ornias (bass & deathvoice) has written some cool metal here, he has those "tortured"- type vocals. His band is pretty solid too, Surth (six strings hell harps), and Draugen (drums of thunder). "The true legend. .." was recorded in 1996.

You people know what you like, if Mayhem and other crazy Northern European satanic/black metal turns your crank, get this. If you like gayness like Cradle of Filth, go buy some lipstick instead. There are keyboards used in two tracks I noticed, but it's done well. The tracks are- Goatthrone/ The true legend/ Tearing your soul/ The snake in the garden of eden/ In the ghoul-haunted forest where the winter was eternal/ Under the devil's moon/ A cursed blaze from the castle/ The shadows is painting my eyes.
