Dark Heresy
Abstract principles taken to their logical extremes
[Unisound]
I heard the first track here, "Engines of Torture" from a compilation.
This is pretty solid, reminding me of Rotting Christ crossed with
Cathedral and/or early Paradise Lost.
This is in between black, death and doom metal, with a groove
thrown in once in awhile. I assumed this was a Greek band at first,
til the inside address said Surrey, England. When the singer gets mellow
at times, I swear he sounds like Lee Dorian. I think the best track is
"The Last Temptation of Pan". The overall CD is consistent in quality,
nice acoustic intros once in awhile. Track 6 "Hole" starts off weird,
like lounge lizard music, then sort of gets heavy. I hope Dark Heresy
don't experiment like this in the future, as it's funny at first, then
seems retarded. Not bad, but not worth paying an import price for.
Trax are-Engines of Torture/ The Last Temptation Of Pan/ The Ceremony/
Thy Blood/ Offermod/ Hole/ The Millstone/ Tyler's Stand.
