Another collection of Russian metal from K.T.R. label. This one came out back in 1994, before black metal took over in Russia. Several groups from this compilation were featured on "Zhelezniy Marsh vol. 3." There are also two bands from Baltic states, Aggressor from Estonia and Husqvarn from Latvia. The list goes as follows:

The majority of the bands here are death metal, but more traditional styles are also present, courtesy of Adolf Castle and Angels & Demons. Also present are rap-alterna-metal groups like Epilepsy Bout and Mad Force, which is definitely a minus in my book. The rest of the bands play different variations of death metal, from death/thrash like Husqvarn to brutal death like Necrocannibal and Zelator to more melodic style like Aggressor and Carnal Decay. The bands that made the most impression on me were Adolf Castle, Aggressor, Necrocannibal, Bosch, Zelator and Disinter Dead. "Thrash Your Mother" may not be the best metal collection, but if you want to have an idea about the non-black metal Russian scene, this will do.
