Black Sabbath
Mob Rules
[Warner Brothers]
Mob Rules... ruled!!! Sorry 'bout that, I couldn't resist.
Black Sabbath continued on from where they left off on their previous album
'Heaven And Hell'. I actually like this album better as on a whole the
songs are much better (the riffs were also harder) though the first Dio
effort did have it's classics. 'Turn Up The Night' is this album's 'Neon
Knights' as it gets the show on the road in fine fashion. A fast number
with a particularly memorable solo. 'Voodoo' is a great song, one of me
favourites of the Dio era. I love it's rhythm and Mr. Dio puts his vocal
talents to great use. 'Mob Rules' totally stomps. Major league heavy with
the trademark Iommi riff assault aimed to maim. The man seriously doesn't
get enough credit. One day I'd like to shake his hand though he'd probably
tell me to fuck off but that'd be still cool. Last word, the cover art by
Greg Hildebrandt belongs in a gallery where fine art is displayed.
