Marduk
Panzer Division Marduk
[Osmose]

Christraping black metal indeed. This is the first Marduk album I bought, and it is worth every penny. Marduk managed to stick to the basics of black metal and still sound fresh. The approach is pretty straightforward, but Marduk add their own ingredient which makes the music cohesive and wholesome. The album boasts raw, yet very powerful and clear production, and the music is of light speed and unrelenting intensity from start to finish. Good thing the album lasts only 30 minutes, since it doesn't let you catch your breath for a second. In addition, the war theme throughout the album makes "Panzer Division Marduk" quite a conceptual work. It features samples, presumably from WWII, of explosions, cannonade, soldiers' screams, not to mention that tank on the front cover. Unlike their peers, Marduk chose to fight Christianity by using modern tools of war making.

OK, since Marduk are well known for the insane speed and blinding intensity of their music, this album may not be that much of a novelty to their fans, but who am I kidding? This record kicks some serious ass.
