Morbid Angel
Domination
[Earache]
Morbid Angel's 4th album (released in '95). New guitar player Erik Rutan has
joined the band. I have to say that this is my least favorite album by
Morbid Angel - it is somewhat commercialized, the vocals aren't what they
were before and the lyrics are also bad. The music is still good but
different (I think a lot of it have to do with Rutan's influence). Anyway, I
wouldn't recommend this album if you have never heard Morbid Angel before,
even though you can still find some good songs (like "Domination" and
"Caesar's Palace"). The guitar work here is of a very high quality and
difficulty, and you can still find some great solos...I especially liked the
one on "Where the Slime lives", and the drums are blasting and fast, but it's
just not the typical Morbid Angel style. Some changes must be done. On the
other hand, this album is loved by a lot of people who didn't like Morbid
Angel before...
