This is a demo by the one-man band Veltmacht, courtesy of Akhenaten of Judas Iscariot/Sarcophagus. The first song, "The call to battle", is also featured on the NS black metal sampler "The night and the fog" from Dungeons of Darkness. The music is mostly quite slow, with atmospheric riffing, repetetive drum beats and Akhenaten's usual snarling and hateful vocals that can also be heard in Judas Iscariot. What differs this from Judas Iscariot though, is the inclusion of some synths. The synth parts are actually quite tasteful and gives the music somewhat of a militant mood. The last song on this one is an instrumental, sort of a guitar based folk music piece with a good celtic feel over it. Overall this is a good demo - occasional boredom but quite alot of impressive parts.

I noticed that Lord Imperial of Krieg has taken over the vocal duties in this band and I think that was a pretty intelligent move. Not that Akhenaten's vocals are bad, but they sound almost identical to the ones in Judas Iscariot. As the music is also quite similar at times, I believe that Lord Imperial will give the new songs a more original sound. I don't remember hearing wether or not Veltmacht has had any label contact, but given the chance I'm quite certian that they will put out a pretty memorable album.
