I just recently got this after owning all of Obituary's other albums (except 'Dead') for a while. I wish I'd gotten this sooner! It kills. My love for old-school death has been rekindled (I don't think it ever really left, I just got into the newer ultra-brutal stuff) and 'Slowly We Rot' helps quell the fire within me. I never realized how many of the songs from this album have been covered by other bands! Uh. . . Anyway, this was put out back when Roadrunner/Roadracer was a rather cool label. With songs like "Godly Beings", "Immortal Visions", "Gates to Hell" and "Intoxicated", you can't go wrong. Shit, the title track itself (my favorite) is worth the price of admission alone! If you liked what you heard on 'Cause of Death' and have yet to hear 'Slowly We Rot', you need to hear this. It is understandably a classic.
