Mystic Charm
Lost Empire
[Shiver]
If you like doom/death and haven't heard this band, then get off your ass.
I'm not positive, but
I think this 7" was a teaser for Mystic Charm's awesome 'Shadows of the
Unknown' full-length.
Both of the songs on here, "Lost Empire" and "Endless Sickness", appear in
the same form on
the aforementioned full-length, but it's just cool to own them on vinyl.
Mystic Charm rocked while they were around
(before I got into the underground). The vocals were handled by a female
(Rini Lipman). It's always
killer to hear a death metal band with a female singer who does brutal
death vocals. The style
Mystic Charm played was doom/death, but not an overly melancholic kind.
There are touches of that here and there, but
this is mostly brutal, oppressive doom similar in style to Winter or
Sorrow, but with more mid-pacedness. I wish they'd released
more material after their full-length.
