Terrorizer
World Downfall
[Earache]
Terrorizer is, to me, the supergroup of grindcore/crust. David Vincent
(Bass, vox) and Pete Sandoval (drums) both now in Morbid Angel, Jesse
Pintado (guitars) now in Napalm Death, and Oscar Garcia (vox) from the
now defunct Nausea.
This was the first grindcore album which never fell apart
at high speed. "Scum" did, as did both the early Carcass
albums. Musical prowess abounds. Sandoval produces some of
the gnarliest (sorry, had to say it) grindcrust beats ever,
while Vincent's bass perfectly compliments it. He produced
this album himself, so you can be sure that the bass is
audible...:)..."Fear Of Napalm" is a perfect example of
just how MUSCULAR this rhythm section is.
Enter Pintado, whose power chords scream out in agony over
the top of it all. His riffing is quite fantastic. His riff
on "Enslaved By Propaganda" is a pearler, wandering all over
the place. I can't really say much about Garcia's performance
though, as he is vocally interchangeable with Vincent.
I could crap on forever with limitless superlatives about this
album, (as its probably my favourite Earache release EVER, perhaps
alongside "Altars Of Madness" or "Blessed Are The Sick"..its THAT
good), but I won't....lucky you...buy buy buy..."mosh16, my good man!!!"
