Defleshed
Under the Blade
[Invasion]

The person who lent this to me seemed to truly worship this disc. 'The best CD I've heard in some time" he said. Well, this might not be the best CD I've heard in some time, but it's most excellent. Imagine this: Destruction decide not to record "Mad Butcher", but instead become heavily influenced by early Unleashed, and record an incredibly heavy death metal album. Yes, I know that would have been impossible, but there's some heavy influence drawn from each bands.

Actually, their Destruction cover fits itself nicely onto the disc. If you had never heard the real track, you would probably think it was an actual Defleshed song, since they play it with flair. Drumming is incredibly fucking tight and violent, vocals are Swedish death metal-ish, and the guitars create some truly powerful and HEAVY riffs. This is metal to bang your head to, and is most excellent at making a person want to do just that.

Thumbs up to Defleshed. I never heard their previous mCD, but if it's half as good as this, or if they made any progression, then these Swedes could end up being one of the finest death metal bands around. Pick this CD up for sure!
