Totally uninspired and repetitive mid-tempo keyboard-driven Black Metal
from
France.
Released in 1999, it seems that this MCD wants to sum up all the cliché
to be
found in this type of Black Metal : mainly, the melodies have been
stolen from
the old Greek stage (Varathron, Rotting Christ), mixed with Bal Sagoth,
a band
I’ve always hated for their stupid pseudo-sympho music. About the sound,
the
guitars (2 !) and bass are lost in the mix, as the keyboards and the
drums are
too much in front. Drum breaks are childish and the voice is the typical
Black
Metal one, while being not powerful and not very good.
The only topic of the lyrics is war, honour and victory. How original
for a band
that shares nazi interests, but is too shy to put a swastika in their
booklet ?
Only the typical runes (copied on a Burzum shirt ?) are too be found on
the CD,
in order that their little nazi buddies know they’re part of the
“movement”,
while allowing them to sell their CD through big mail-order list… How
brave.
I have to add that those guys are from Grenoble, a city in the south of
France,
where people are proud to shout “White power” in front of an excellent
Japanese
band (Abigail) and to spit at the singers (Maniac from Mayhem).
Pathetic.
Sometimes I understand my lack of patriotic enthusiasm when surrounded
by such
morons…
Not the worst CD I ever own, but one of them.
