Total Carcass worship !!!
With the success of this seminal Grind Death band and
the disappointment brought by their last albums, a
lot of followers tried to continue the style of their
early works. Some were successful in their attempt
(General Surgery in Sweden, Impaled in the USA), some
totally lost their soul (if they only had one) by
cloning that band (Golem in Germany).
Hopefully, Necrony belongs to the first category.
Pathological Performances, their only full-length
album (out in 1993), is deeply rooted in the
Symphonies Of Sickness era, but with some short
Necrotycism-like soli. Between a short industrial and
noisy intro (not really exciting) and a 2-minutes
instrumental song as outro, you get nearly 50 minutes
of excellent melodic Grind Death, with the obvious
dissection / medical lyrics.
The sound and production reminds more of the last
Carcass works, being really clear and with a somewhat
nineties feeling, but the vocals are still raw gory
ones, alternating with some even rawer ones and few
(not-too-much) high-pitched screams.
This album have been sold-out for years, but it seems
that it has been recently re-released (through which
label, I really like to know) and is now available
for the biggest pleasure of Grind heads. Carcass fans
will appreciate... I do.
