Another shite band presented to me in a huge digipak with terribly overdone packaging. The front cover is a picture of one of the band members dogs. The band themselves have stripped away their black metal look in exchange for corpse-paint/clothing that will appeal to Marilyn Manson goth-punks (since they look like Mr.Manson for some strange reason now:blame it on the goofy corpse paint). Metal Blade has put promotion behind this album, since they'll be licensing it to you yank morons. This is not evil, this is not good. This is fucking terrible.

What blows me away, as with bands such as Cradle of Filth and Dimmu Borgir, is that Dark Funeral have a huge and supportive fan base. Naturally when you make music as cheap as this, have trendy promotion behind you, and bend over for the caphead/loser fanbase, you'll sell albums. There is nothing good about Dark Funeral, they are not a great band, nor are they elite. They are generic, silly, and worth nothing in a musical context.

I saw Dark Funeral about three years ago on a live stage. I quite enjoyed that, as cheesy as it was, since they seemed to put something into their live show. I also quite enjoyed their mCD. Later on, I picked up their overrated, if not terrible first CD. And now I've traded for this. Is it any better than the last CD? No. Why though? Because it's the exact same thing! Straight forward, boring, and fast black metal. Terrible lyrics top it all off. And a running time of thirty-five minutes. At least it fits onto one side of a tape. Dub this shit release to hell and back, since that's really all that it deserves.
