What comes to mind when I think of this release? Well, that's easy.... CULT!!!! A 1987 demo by this seminal Black/Death metal outfit based out of San Francisco. In fact, this release was some of the main inspiration for early Burzum. For the most part each song has the same drum beat, with the same riff playing over & over, creating a surreal effect with the music. The vocals can be described as "satanic dog vomits", I suppose. Most people probably heard of this band due to the Dark Funeral cover of the godly track Satanic Blood on their "Secrets of the Black Arts" CD. Well fuck that, their cover didn't do it any justice! This is such a cult release, that anyone really into Black Metal would be stupid not to buy it. Every song is good & the fact that it's from 1987 blows you away. Unfortunately this band broke up after this demo, but this recording is all it took to make them legends in the Black Metal underground, and one of the leading pioneers of US Black Metal.
