The Ancients Rebirth
Damnated Hell's Arrival
[Necropolis]
I haven't heard anything from the bands previous library, so I really
can't compare in relation to improvement or change in style. But this is
really quite excellent! The opening track alone is worth the price of
this mCD. Really dirty and violent sounding black/speed/thrash metal,
filled with quality technical guitars, killer drumming, and although
generic, well done vocals. And to top it off is a (sped up) Kreator
cover. Well done indeed!
The first thing I noticed about this is the huge amount of stuff going
on at once here. There's loads of riffs, drums all over the place, and
screaming vocals filling up a simply huge wall of sound. I quite enjoyed
this feel, since generally thin productions and instrumentation values
don't work with music like this. Next, I picked up on the technical feel
of the music. By listening to each instrument individually, you can hear
that the band haven't learnt to play in the last two weeks. Great solos,
very well done riffs, and interesting drumming make this even more
enjoyable. ARGGHHHHHH!!!!!! And the first track, as mentioned alone, is
worth every penny you lay down for this!!! This is one the best
combinations of super fast black metal mixed with thrashing evil!!!!
This band will simply destroy if they can learn to create a full length
that does not get boring after awhile. The mCD does get a tad overdone
at times, but with a little work, these guys could be a truly violent
force.
