Denial Of God
The Ghouls of Dog
[Dark Trinity]
Why do bands feel the need to destroy their releases with fucking
terrible packaging? I personally quite enjoy simple and underground
looking packaging, but this is simply silly! The band can be found on
the cover, sitting under their pathetic logo, standing and kneeling
around a grave stone. Some of the members are holding bones, some of
them flowers, and one of them a skull. They are posed in ripped up
clothing. And get this: They've coloured their eyes in red/pink!! What
the fuck were they thinking??!! That disgusting slut/prostitute they
have inside of the CD card doesn't quite impress me either!! She must be
one of their mothers, considering how old and filthy she looks!
The descriptions of what they individually play aren't much better.
"Creepy strings of horror and blood drinking", "human bones on
skulls"...fuck off!! Get some real packaging, and some brains you idiots!
Enough of that though, this is just a minor problem, and hopefully
something that won't destroy their careers too badly.
The music is actually decent. It's not amazing in any way, but it's not
bad either. It's mostly melodic black metal, with some darker and deeper
sounding vocals, which actually work quite well with the music. I
especially enjoyed some of the riffs displayed here. While somewhat
bland or free of any emotional capability, they are pleasing enough to
listen to, and create a somewhat dark feeling. The production on the
other hand could have been a good deal better. This is obviously not raw
black/dark metal, and could have done better if they'd turned the sound
up before the final mixing. Finally, they can be commended for having
some great song titles. They should have called the mCD "Follow those
who died" instead of the title tracks name. "The Ghouls of Dog" is just
silly sounding.
So lads, if you grab yourself some better production, name your CD by
one of your more interesting titles, have someone do a
non-drunken/stupid layout for you, and practice a bit more, you might be
a fairly decent band. Denial of God have what it takes to be a quality
metal band, but until they fix up some MAJOR problems, they'll be
nothing more than a fucking joke with some half-decent music.
