Iuvenes
Riddle of Steel
[No Colours]

What is this stuff with the title of the band actually being written IUVENES these days in catalogs? It's even in the logo.

Anyway, you hear rather primitive and basically safe viking metal from Poland when listening to 'Riddle of Steel'. Vocal-wise and production-wise they go the same way as many from Sweden & Germany have gone before them, that meaning a bit droning choirs and blocky drumsounds that make it difficult for you to say if it's a machine or not, like it used to be with Bathory. The songs are long as you would expect and the inevitable factor of boredom rises... does this pass through the challenge of keeping the songs interesting? Sometimes. The title track is probably the best one heard in a while and this is in fact not much different from the latest GRAVELAND albums for those who enjoyed their epic way of minimalism.
