December Wolves
We are Everywhere
[Independent release]
I really could not complain picking this disc up for $5(U.S) even though it's
under 10 minutes long. I'm impressed December Wolves have decided to release
a simple promo on CD, yet at the same time it's quite the marketing idea-it's
a hell of a lot more fun to pick up a CD than a simple cassette if you ask me.
Well done on their part. Anyways the music....very good! There are only two songs
here, here, both quite individual sounding, and both very excellent. The first track
"We are everywhere" starts out with almost an Einherjer (well the full length Einherjer that is)
sounding clean guitar sound, but quickly blasts into a fairly typical black metal
song filled with melodic, fairly Celt-like riffs. The drums here are excellent, very
tight, and the music is the same-all the instruments flow nicely, and each have
individual parts during the song where they are allowed to stand out. Vocal wise,
December Wolves produce fairly generic (although GOOD generic) vox, sounding a lot
like Satyr's vocals on Satyricon's first two albums. Song two "...Not with Tainted Blood"
is more metallic in origin, yet still excellent. I won't be surprised if these guys
jump onto a larger label in the near future. Look out for them.
